Rom 14:22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.
Rom 14:23 But, the one doubting, if he eats, he has been condemned, because it is not of faith; and all that is not of faith is sin.
Know what God calls faith? He calls faith as not condemning ourselves. And when we condemn ourselves, we are not of faith, are doubting and are in sin.
So we see that our self works, our condemnation, is really sin. It's when we realise that God is big enough to forgive us, sent His Son on the cross to die for sinners as us. It's when we loose our false prides and accept His forgiveness, realising that nothing we can do can justify ourselves. That's when we are truly humble.
And God calls it faith.
